Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

This policy covers the website christophleide.com and all of its pages and subdomains operated by me (currently the blog and learning platform). It describes what information is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It is written to comply with United States federal and state privacy laws, including the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), and the privacy principles of other state laws where applicable.

Overview

I do not sell or share personal information with anyone, ever. This site collects the minimum information needed to operate, keeps it on infrastructure I control, and runs no advertising or third-party trackers. Most visitors can use every page and calculator without giving any personal information at all.

Information collected

WhatWhenPurposeRetention
Contact form submissions (name, email, message) Only if you send a message Replying to your inquiry Kept as long as useful for our correspondence; deleted on request
Server access logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent) Automatically, on every visit Security and troubleshooting No longer than 30 days

That is the complete list. This site uses no cookies or similar technologies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or profiling. There are no third-party analytics scripts, ad networks, or social media pixels anywhere on the site. No information is collected from children under 13, and the site is not directed at children.

How information is used

Contact submissions are used solely to respond to your inquiry. Server logs are used solely to keep the site secure and operating. Your personal information is never used for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose other than responding to you.

No sale, no sharing

I have never sold personal information and will not sell or share it, as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA and equivalent state laws. I do not disclose personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. Because this site does not sell or share personal information, statutory "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link requirements do not apply; this paragraph serves as the public commitment in their place. If you have a disability that prevents you from acting on this notice by other means, contact me and I will provide assistance.

No third-party disclosure

Personal information is not disclosed, rented, traded, or otherwise transferred to any third party, with two narrow exceptions required by law: disclosure to hosting/security providers strictly as needed to operate the site (see next section), and disclosure compelled by valid legal process such as a court order. Any such disclosure is limited to what the law requires.

Where information lives and who can reach it

This website is self-hosted on a server I lease and control. Contact messages and server logs stay on my own infrastructure, which is reachable only over a private encrypted network I operate. I do not upload this site's data to third-party cloud storage or processing services. Email sent through the contact form is delivered to a mailbox under my control.

Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Administrative access to the server requires encrypted private-network connections and key-based authentication. I apply software updates and review access to maintain security. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but the architecture here keeps your data off shared third-party platforms entirely.

Your privacy rights (all US states)

Regardless of which state you live in, you may contact me to:

If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you additionally have the statutory rights granted by your state's law, including the right to know, access, correct, delete, portability where applicable, and the right to appeal a refusal to act on a request. I will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by the applicable law (generally 45 days, with one permitted extension). You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf. Exercising these rights will never affect the price or quality of service you receive, because I offer the same site to everyone.

Non-US visitors

This site is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the US, the same commitments apply: no sale, no sharing, no tracking, minimal collection. Nothing on this site requires you to provide personal information to browse.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I will post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and note material changes on the home page. If I ever intended to use personal information in a materially different way than stated here, I would announce it before doing so.

Do Not Track

This site does not track visitors across other websites or services, so browser Do Not Track signals have nothing to act on here.
